The Altai businesses visited Uzbekistan on 24-27 October 2011. The delegation included representatives of Altai CCI, Altailes, Kamenskiy LDK, Sibagromashzapchast, Altai-Starover, Sibgiproselhozmash.

The mission participated at the Fifth International of Industrial Fair in Tashkent and over 800 enterprises presented their products. Altai businesses received ability to assess potential and opportunities of all industries of Uzbekistan, their products and services.

The Altai delegation led by head of regional representative of Russian CCI in Central Asia Victor Jigulin participated at the official meeting at the Trade Office of Russia in Uzbekistan. Trade Representative of Russia in Uzbekistan Konstantin Artyushen briefed delegation on conditions of doing business in Uzbekistan, laws and problems, which foreign businesses face in Uzbekistan. The sides discussed cooperation of businesses with Russian bodies abroad. The delegation also held meeting with the representatives of business club.

The Russian mission also held negotiations at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The Russian delegation familiarized with opportunities of developing trade-economic ties with Uzbekistan.

On 26 October, the delegation of Altai Kray held talks with the Uzbek businesses, who expressed their intention to cooperation with Altai businesses. The Altai CCI noted that over 60% of meeting between Altai and Uzbekistan businesses were fruitful. Other contacts will require more negotiations.

The businesses of Uzbekistan expressed interest in supply of timber and cooperation in pharmaceutical industry. Altailes reached agreement on supply of timber with Andijancable and set partnership relations with five more companies.

Altai-Startover, producer of honey, balms, herbs, attracted great interest of the Uzbek firms and agreements were reached to supply goods into market of Tashkent. Other companies also reached agreements of cooperation with their Uzbek counterparts. The Uzbek side also offered to export fruiots, natural juices, jams, medicaments and other goods to Russia.
