Uzbek diplomats help three citizens return from the UAE
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Three Uzbek citizens, who found themselves in a difficult situation in the United Arab Emirates, were able to return home with the help of diplomats, the "Dunyo" agency reports.
It was revealed that they had arrived in the UAE at the invitation of a relative but overstayed their visa-free period and remained in the country illegally for two months. Meanwhile, the person who had invited them left for Qatar, abandoning them in a rented house without paying for their accommodation.
In February 2025, the property owner evicted the Uzbek citizens and demanded payment for the overdue rent.
Left without housing, financial means, or a way to return home, they sought assistance from the consulate.
The diplomats, in collaboration with the "Center for Women’s and Children’s Assistance" in the UAE and active fellow citizens, provided temporary housing, food, and legal support to those affected.
The rent issue was resolved, and the Uzbekistan Airways office in the UAE helped arrange tickets for the Dubai-Tashkent route. As a result, the citizens successfully returned to Uzbekistan.
