The summit is held for the first time organized outside of Malaysia. Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and Telediffusao de Macau, S.A. (TDM) organized the summit.

The forum is aimed at discussing actual problems of media community, development of approaches and solutions, directed to establishment of dialogue and achievement of mutual understanding in information sphere between the West and East.

Within the summit, it is planned to hold bilateral negotiations of heads of broadcasters of the Asia-Pacific region. They will exchange information on actual issues of development of electronic mass media and consider establishment of mutual beneficial cooperation in broadcasting.
