Uzbek delegation participates in Hungary-Turkic States Summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 28 April, the first summit of Hungary and Turkic-speaking states on culture, higher education, and innovation is taking place in Budapest. The Uzbekistan delegation, headed by Shokhrukh Daliev, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, is actively participating in the event.

Hungary's Minister of Culture and Innovation, Balázs Hankó, opened the summit, highlighting the significance of the forum for regional cooperation, the advancement of relations to a new stage, and Hungary's active role in these processes.

Panel sessions on "The Power of Regional Cooperation: Strengthening Ties Between Turkic States and Hungary" and "Regional Innovation Partnerships" featured speeches by ministers, deputy ministers of education, culture, and innovation, university leaders, and other officials from Hungary and Turkic countries.

In his speech, Shokhrukh Daliev discussed Uzbekistan’s achievements in education, science, and innovation, as well as the prospects for further cooperation with Turkic states and Hungary. He emphasized the reforms led by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the country's progress in science, digital transformation, renewable energy, and the startup ecosystem.

It should be noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Hungary have now reached a level of strategic partnership. Through the Stipendium Hungaricum government program, hundreds of Uzbek students are studying at leading universities in Hungary.

The innovative strategies of Uzbekistan and the results achieved in partnership create a foundation for even closer and more effective cooperation with Turkic states and Hungary. New projects and areas of cooperation were discussed at the summit.
