Uzbek Delegation in Germany Studies Experience in Supporting Rural Entrepreneurship
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davronbek Kurbonov, is visiting Germany as part of the “Development of Rural Entrepreneurship in the Fergana Valley” project, implemented jointly with the World Bank.
The purpose of the trip is to study German experience in creating business incubators, developing mentorship systems, and supporting small enterprises, with a view to adapting these practices in Uzbekistan.
In Munich, the Uzbek delegation met with the leadership of the Bavarian East-West Business Forum (OWWFB) and its international business development expert, Mursal Noorzae.
The forum was established in 2016 by merging two organizations—OWWC, founded in 1968, and DOM, active since 1991. Today, it serves as a significant platform for economic cooperation between Bavaria, European countries, and neighboring regions.
The discussions focused on agricultural product processing, expanding export opportunities, and applying German practices in the production of everyday goods. The delegation noted that this experience could contribute to the development of rural businesses in Uzbekistan. Following the meeting, both sides agreed to organize joint workshops, share experiences, and establish direct cooperation with German mentors.
On the second day of the visit, the Uzbek delegation met with Michael Eger, President of the European Taxpayers’ Association. The organization unites taxpayers’ associations from 29 EU countries and has over one million members. Its activities are aimed at creating conditions with low tax burdens and high economic freedom.
During the meeting, Kurbonov presented Uzbekistan’s investment potential in the textile and jewelry sectors and proposed new avenues for cooperation with German businesses.
Both sides also agreed on a visit by a German delegation to Uzbekistan in March 2026, which will include representatives of the Taxpayers’ Association, investors, importers, and journalists. German experts will participate with presentations at an international conference organized under the Fergana Valley Rural Entrepreneurship Development Project.
