Uzbek delegation attends the “SCO Civilizations Dialogue 2024” in Astana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 20 June, the "SCO Civilizations Dialogue 2024" took place in Astana, gathering over 130 representatives from various SCO member states.

The forum was organized by the Asia-Europe Broadcasting Center (publisher of the "People’s Daily"), under the auspices of the Chinese Publishing and Distribution Office for Literature in Foreign Languages (CICG), the Institute for Research on Modern China and the World, the Kazakhstan China Studies Center, the Kazakhstan Center for the Study of Chinese Modernization, and the Committee for the Management of the Regional Trade and Economic Cooperation Demonstration Zone China – SCO.

Representing Uzbekistan were leaders from the Information-Analytical Center for International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, experts from the International Institute for Central Asia and the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President.

The event, supported by the SCO Secretariat and the Chines State Council Press Office, was timed to coincide with the 24th meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council, scheduled for 3-4 July 2024 in Astana.

The forum placed special emphasis on the SCO’s contributions to promoting cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, enhancing mutual understanding among peoples, and creating conditions for cultural exchange and interaction among member countries.

Organizers also prepared a series of unique exhibitions showcasing the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan and China for participants.

For instance, the Kazakhstan China Studies Center presented artifacts of Kazakhstani life, traditions, arts, and crafts, including "Tuskiz" textiles, performances by national ensembles, and master classes on traditional musical instruments.

Attendees also had the opportunity to view outstanding works of Chinese calligraphy and participate in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

In conclusion, participants agreed that the "SCO Civilizations Dialogue 2024" had created an important platform for cultural exchanges and mutual learning among SCO countries, offering a valuable opportunity for cooperation and further implementation of the Global Civilization Initiative.
