Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 9 to 13 December 2024, a delegation of Uzbek business representatives, led by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, is visiting the Czech Republic and Germany.
As part of the visit, the Czech Republic-Uzbekistan Business Forum was held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, featuring B2B meetings between entrepreneurs from both countries working in the textile, food, and construction sectors.
The event was attended by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Olimjon Abdullaev, the Chairman and CEO of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Department of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, František Masopust, and representatives from the insurance export agency EGAP, who gave presentations.
The forum also saw participation from an official of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, who presented on the country’s investment potential and vast business opportunities.
In 2023, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the Czech Republic reached US$344.3 million. Exports to the Czech Republic totaled US$51.3 million, while imports amounted to US$293 million.
As a result of the event, agreements were made to further develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
On 12 December, the delegation will hold a Germany-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Frankfurt.
