The young woman, who was a passenger of a Tashkent-Moscow flight, attempted to smuggle over 1 kg of heroin hidden in her suitcase. But customs officers of the capital’s airport foiled her plans. A criminal case had been instituted into the incident and that an investigation was under way.

The customs officers had thwarted 91 attempts to smuggle drugs and seized over 320 kg of hard drugs in operations, including the ones held jointly with some other law-enforcement agencies, in the past period of 2009.
