The committee told the agency that the incident took place at the Navoiy border post (Kazakh-Uzbek border) in the presence of officers of the State Customs Committee’s Tashkent regional directorate.

"Having seen the customs officers, the owners of the goods worth about 16 million soums (one dollars is about 1,300 soums) escaped in an unknown direction," an SCC official said.
