Uzbek customs officers prevent attempted smuggling of jewelry articles

The Uzbek Customs officers prevented several attempts of smuggling ancient historical and cultural valuables.
The customs officers found 261 jewelry articles (ear-rings, rings, bracelets, monists) of the 19th and early 20th centuries in hand bags of two Afghan citizens.
The customs officers prevented 55 attempts to smuggle historical valuables during the first half of 2009. About 715 historical and cultural valuables were seized in total.
