Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of Novosibirsk together with the Uzbek diaspora, the Public Organization of the Regional National Cultural Autonomy of the Uzbeks and the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, held Uzbek Culture Day in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Dunyo agency reported reported.
The event, the purpose of which was to get acquainted with the history, rich culture and traditions of the Uzbek people, was attended by representatives of the regional and city administrations, national public organizations, as well as compatriots living and studying in this Russian region.
The event also hosted a literary evening “Taste of Oriental Wisdom”, dedicated to the life and work of the founder of Uzbek classical literature Alisher Navoi.
The deputy head of the public relations department of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory R. Rafikov, the representative of the Krasnoyarsk city administration E. Konovalova, the chairmen of national-cultural autonomies operating in the city, especially noted the invaluable contribution of the prominent sons of the Uzbek people to the development of world civilization in medicine, astronomy and mathematics.
At the evening, songs were sung in Uzbek, samples of poetry by the prominent thinker A. Navoi were read.
