Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uztektilprom association held talks with representatives of the Uzbekistan-Italy Chamber of Commerce - CUIZ, headed by its president Giorgio Veronese and the CEO of Cottonella. 

It is worth noting that CUIZ aims to establish , expanding and strengthening relations between Italy and Uzbekistan and to promote the development of trade, cultural, social and economic ties between the two countries.

Assessing the reforms in the textile industry and the geographical location of Uzbekistan (delivery of products to the EU takes 14-17 days), relative competitive prices for raw materials, energy, the growing CIS market, the availability of personnel, the Italian company decided to create a production for sewing underwear in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan was not chosen by investors by chance. According to Cottonella, the brand occupies more than 90% of the Italian market and works for the middle segment. Products under the Cottonella brand are made exclusively from cotton, which is the basis of the brand name. Uzbek cotton meets all requirements and is environmentally friendly.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to establish an enterprise for the tailoring of finished products for Italian brands in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the parties jointly agreed on the organization of two-week trainings for technologists in Italy and monthly courses for designers at leading Italian fashion schools on Sustainable Fashion.
