The delegation of ACIMIT led by President of ACIMIT Sandro Salmoiraghi visited Uzbekistan on 21-22 October to develop trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy. ACIMIT and the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade organized the visit.

The Italian delegation include representatives of such companies as Fadis, Marzoli, Plm Impianti, Reggiani, Salmoiraghi, Savio, Texera.

Within the visit, the Italian delegation held negotiations at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. The sides discussed current state and perspectives of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy, as well as exchanged opinion on developing common position on creation of favourable conditions for further developing business contacts.

Uzbekistan is the world’s sixth largest cotton producer. In recent years, it has initiated a profound restructuring of its textile sector for the on-site transformation of the raw material, building industrial complexes, thanks in part to foreign investments. Italian exports of textile machinery to Uzbekistan in 2009 amounted to 4.2 million euros.
