Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul has issued a warning to citizens about the growing number of fraudulent employment schemes in Türkiye.

According to the consulate, Uzbek nationals are increasingly being offered seemingly well-paid jobs with good conditions, accommodation, and official documentation. However, in reality, many face unpaid wages, harsh and degrading working conditions, and illegal exploitation of their labor.

Working without a valid permit can lead to fines and deportation. In most cases, intermediaries disappear as soon as the workers arrive in Türkiye, taking their money and cutting off all contact.

The core issue lies in the lack of formal contracts, which makes it difficult to hold fraudsters accountable.

In light of this, the consulate strongly advises citizens to seek employment in Türkiye only through official and verified channels. Work permits for employment abroad can be obtained through the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
