The meeting was organized jointly by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Trade and Industry of Shanghai with the assistance of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, Jahon news agency reported.

The event was attended by more than one hundred businessmen from Shanghai and the nearby cities of the provinces of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, among whom are representatives of Chinese business already active in Uzbekistan.

At the opening of the business forum, it was noted that as the “One belt, one road” initiative was promoted, Shanghai, as well as other regions of the PRC, actively established close ties and interaction with countries along this route, including Uzbekistan.

The participants were presented with a video about the investment policy of Uzbekistan and an extended presentation on opportunities for conducting successful business in the country.

As a result of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Federation of Trade and Industry of Shanghai, an agreement was reached to hold a business forum in Tashkent in 2018 and to consider opening the Uzbek Trade House in the Chinese metropolis.
