The forum was aimed at strengthening partnership among state, public and international organizations for constructive discussion of role and tasks of civil society in fighting HIV spread and raising tolerance of people towards people with HIV in Uzbekistan.

Success of fight against spread of HIV depends on political will and coordinated efforts of all interested sides in all levels. The forum was directed at uniting all partners, who are working on combating HIV infection in Uzbekistan to achieve access to prevention, treatment and support of people with HIV.

The forum discussed issues on further strengthening partnership, role and tasks of civil society in fighting HIV spread and raising tolerance to people with HIV in Uzbekistan, etc.

At the forum, the participants exchanged opinion on strengthening partnership in implementation of programmes directed at prevention of HIV.

Some 60 people, representing Uzbek parliament, health ministry, National Anti-AIDS Center, UNDP, UNAIDS and others, participated at the event.
