President of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov started his four-day state visit to Uzbekistan on Wednesday, 5 November. Mr. Parvanov arrived in Uzbekistan on invitation of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
Leaders of two states consider issues of further expansion of bilateral cooperation and regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Uzbekistan and Bulgaria signed agreements on protection of intellectual property and agreement on cooperation in information technologies and communication. Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Bulgaria also inked agreement on interaction.
Today, the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov attended the opening ceremony of Uzbek-Bulgarian Business Forum. He will hold negotiations with the speaker of Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Dilorom Tashmuhamedova.
Tomorrow, the Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will visit Samarkand city. At the presence of Mr. Parvanov, governor of Samarkand city and mayor of Plovdiv will sign agreement on the twinning of these two cities.
