Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Akmal Khasanov, a boxing coach from Uzbekistan, has been honored with the Chingiz Aitmatov Medal. This was announced by Assol Moldokmatova, a distinguished cultural figure of Kyrgyzstan and the Secretary General of the International Public Organization "Issyk-Kul Forum named after Chingiz Aitmatov."

According to her, on 5 August, during a conversation with Askar Aitmatov, the writer’s son and former Foreign Minister, it was decided to award Akmal Khasanov the medal for his humanitarianism, tolerance, humanity, and high level of public diplomacy.

"As a sign of respect, I wore an Uzbek jacket and contacted Akmal Khasanov in Paris to express gratitude and inform him of his award with the Chingiz Aitmatov Medal. Today, Uzbek boxers are competing, and Akmal answered the call. Akmal, thank you for your human and brotherly attitude! We appreciate, respect, and admire you! We look forward to welcoming you! You deserve the highest awards!" noted Assol Moldokmatova.

On August 3, Kyrgyzstani boxer Munarbek Seyitbek uulu defeated 2021 World Champion and 2023 Pan American Games Champion Jamal Harvey from the USA by a split decision of 3:2.
