Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 April, Chairperson of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on international relations, foreign economic relations, foreign investment and tourism Ravshanbek Alimov met with Chairman of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on international affairs and national security Sergei Rachkov.

The meeting was attended by members of parliaments, representatives of the diplomatic departments of the two countries, media workers.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the state and prospects of bilateral Uzbek-Belarusian relations, considered proposals for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, inter-regional cooperation, the implementation of agreements reached during meetings of the heads of the chambers of parliaments of the two countries. An exchange of views took place on a number of planned joint events.

At the end of the talks, the parties agreed to continue contacts through inter-parliamentary cooperation groups between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus, as well as to work out the issue of establishing direct contacts between relevant parliamentary committees in order to effectively implement the tasks set in the interests of the citizens of the two countries.
