Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 February 2024, negotiations between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Aleynik took place in Tashkent.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral relations. Particular attention was paid to the development of trade and economic cooperation, strengthening food security and the development of industrial cooperation projects.
The parties expressed confidence that the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, scheduled for 7 February 2024 in Tashkent, will help strengthen economic ties and establish direct interaction between the regions of the two countries.
The ministers also noted the high level of cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, culture, sports and tourism.
The sides discussed the situation on the world stage and in the Eurasian region, and also shared opinions on interaction within the UN, CIS and SCO. The parties emphasized the similarity of approaches to building dialogue on international platforms and expressed their mutual desire for a more equitable world order.
Minister Sergei Aleinik expressed gratitude for the support of Uzbekistan on the path of Belarus obtaining the status of a member state of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. A review of the schedule of bilateral events and visits for the near future was also carried out.
