The regulator said that one of priority direction of policy of the banking system for 2014 is to finance small and private businesses, especially family businesses, attracting graduates of educational institutes to the business sector.

The statement of the bank said that the banking sector will adopt all necessary measures to provide 7.5 trillion soums of loans due to all sources of financing to small and private business entities in 2014.

The banks will allocate microloans for 160 billion soums to help graduates of professional colleges to start their businesses.

The Central Bank said that microfinance services for 137 billion soums were issued to develop family businesses, private entrepreneurship and craftsmanship in 2014, which helped to open new service objects, shops, confectionary shops, etc. This year, about 170 billion soums will be directed to expand family businesses.

Uzbek banks also pay attention to financing business initiatives of businesswomen. This year, it is planned to issue 700 billion soums of loans to them.

It is expected that the commercial banks of Uzbekistan will issue 50 billion soums of consumer loans to families to purchase of home appliances, produced in Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan pays great attention to construction of houses and improvement of habitation. It is planned that the mortgage loans for 215 billion soums will be allocated to young families to buy apartments, construction and reconstruction of their habitation. It is planned to issue over 1 trillion soums of loans to construct 11,000 individual houses on standard projects in rural areas in 2014.
