Uzbek banks issue mortgage loans for 6.1 trillion soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In Uzbekistan, for nine months of 2021, commercial banks allocated mortgage loans in the amount of 6.1 trillion soums, which is 4.8% lower than the corresponding period of 2020. This is stated in the report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

In the reporting period, according to the regulator, banks issued mortgage loans to 41,932 individuals.

About 4.89 trillion soums (80% of the total volume of loans) were allocated for the purchase of housing in the primary market, which is 28.7% less compared to the same period in 2020.

Individuals received 1.25 trillion soums for the purchase of housing in the secondary market (20% of the total volume of loans). The growth of these loans was 8.6 times.

At the same time, the company for refinancing the mortgage of Uzbekistan allocated about 1.21 trillion soums for the purchase of housing in the secondary market.

Within the framework of the new state program, loans were allocated in the amount of 2.86 trillion in January-September. Sumov.

Tashkent (1.64 trillion soums or 26.8% of the total amount of loans issued), Samarkand (585 billion soums) and Fergana regions (570 billion soums) are leading in terms of mortgage loans.

According to the Central Bank, as of 1 October 2021, the balance of mortgage loans increased by 26.2% compared to the same period in 2020 - 32.8 trillion soums.
