Uzbek banks issue 8.398m banking payment cards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Number of banking payment cards, issued by commercial banks of Uzbekistan, made up 8.398 million as of 1 April 2012, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

The regulator said that the banks issued over 8.364 million banking payment cards to individuals and 23,081 cards to legal entities. Over 11,000 individual businesses are also using banking payment cards.

Commercial banks installed 103,369 units of POS-terminals, 310 ATMs and 765 infokiosks as of 1 April 2011, the bank added.
