This ceremony drew more than 100 participants from the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, commercial banks, microfinance organizations, audit companies, leasing companies, students and other interested parties.

During the ceremony, GARP’s certificates were awarded to employees of the "Ipoteka-bank" – to Mr. Abdurashid Maksumov, Ms. Dinara Nurmukhamedova, Mr. Kobiljon Khudoykulov, Mr. Utkir Kushanov, Mr. Shukhrat Urinbaev and employee of the "Invest Finance Bank" – Mr. Ruslan Karimov. These bank employees have confirmed their skills on the international level and have the opportunity to join the international community of risk managers, which unites more than 150,000 professionals in the field of risk management in banks, investment companies, government agencies, academic institutions, and corporations from more than 195 countries.

The Risk Certification Program is a new product on the market of the CIS countries, including Uzbekistan, and allows a candidate to get and test his knowledge of the principal banking risks: market, credit and operational risks. During this course, a candidate may learn how international financial regulations, including the Basel Accords, could affect on management of these risks. Moreover, the Program organizes the knowledge that allows specialists with different experiences in the field of risk management to "speak" on the same language.

The Risk Certification Program is designed for a wide range of professionals, including accountants, auditors, lawyers, IT specialists and other employees who are faced with issues of risk management in their work. This program is also suitable for students, wishing to work in the financial sector.

Specialists, who successfully pass GARP’s certification, thereby proving its high level qualification on international level, contribute to further strengthening of banks and other entities that provide financial services.

The next certification exam will be held on April 27, 2013. All interested persons may register for participation in Risk Management Program till the 31st of March 2013. Terms of registration and information about organizations, which provide trainings for passing certification exam can be found on website of GARP.

The Risk Certification Program is implemented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Azerbaijan and Central Asia Financial Infrastructure Advisory Services Project (ACAFI). ACAFI Project is being implemented in partnership with the Government of Switzerland.
