Uzbek-Bangladeshi political consultations takes place in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 June 2024, the next round of political consultations took place in Tashkent between the foreign ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

The delegations of the parties were headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bahromjon Aloev and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh Masud bin Momen.

During the negotiations, the state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Bangladesh relations were discussed in detail.

The parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen political dialogue and inter-parliamentary relations, expand the legal framework for cooperation, as well as deepen interaction within international organizations.

The main attention was paid to intensifying economic diplomacy. An agreement was reached on the development of joint measures to increase foreign trade indicators and its diversification, as well as on the implementation of joint investment projects in various sectors of the national economy of Uzbekistan.

An exchange of views took place on building up cultural and humanitarian ties, developing partnerships in the fields of education, digital technologies and tourism.

Certain aspects of the international and regional agenda are also considered.

Following the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Diplomatic Academy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Bangladesh Academy of Foreign Service.
