Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2-3 November, the Ak Bars Martial Arts Palace in Kazan hosted the world belt wrestling championship among boys and girls aged 15-17, in which Uzbek athletes took part.

Along with Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Mongolia were represented at the competition.

The delegation of Uzbekistan included the President of the World Belbogli Kurash Federation Azizbek Ganiev, the Chairman of the Belt Wrestling Federation Ravshan Dastirov, the head of the Sports Development Committee of the Tashkent region Rustam Bobokulov, the head coach of the youth team Osman Makhamatov.

After the welcoming speeches of the guests of honor and the festive concert of folk ensembles of Tatarstan, belt wrestling competitions began.

According to the results of the world championship, the national team of Uzbekistan won 22 medals - 3 gold, 5 silver and 14 bronze, Dunyo news agency reported.
