Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 July, an international round table titled “Joint Promotion of Knowledge and Innovations within the Central Asia plus Japan Dialogue” took place at Tsukuba University.
Tsukuba University, established in 1973, is one of Japan’s leading national universities. The university conducts research in fundamental science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and related interdisciplinary fields.
The event was attended by leadership and representatives of expert-analytical and scientific-academic institutions from both Japan and Uzbekistan. The Japanese side was represented by leaders and experts from Tsukuba University, the Nippon Foundation, and the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences.
The Uzbek side included leaders and representatives from the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI), the Information-Analytical Center for International Relations, the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms, the International Institute of Central Asia, and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
During the negotiations, participants discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in education, science, and innovation. Special attention was given to further enhancing collaboration between the scientific research communities of the two countries.
Speaking at the event, B. Mustafayev, Deputy Director of ISMI, emphasized the importance of establishing a Uzbek-Japanese expert council and conducting joint research on priority issues of mutual interest.
