Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 February 2025, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Lithuania, with residence in Riga, Timur Rakhmanov, presented his credentials to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, according to the Dunyo news agency.

Following the official ceremony, a brief meeting was held, during which the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Lithuania.

President Nausėda praised the development of political dialogue and trade-economic relations between the two countries, highlighting that in 2024, Uzbekistan became one of Lithuania’s key economic partners.

The Lithuanian leader expressed full support for Tashkent’s initiatives in cooperation with the European Union and Uzbekistan’s efforts to join the World Trade Organization. He also noted that the upcoming "Central Asia – European Union" forum in Samarkand is a significant step toward strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and the EU.

Additionally, Lithuania expressed its readiness to expand cooperation in the energy sector, particularly in green energy and the exchange of advanced technologies.

It is worth noting that on 17 June 2024, Timur Rakhmanov previously presented his credentials to Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs, officially assuming his role as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to the Baltic states.
