Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 December, Uzbekistan’s newly appointed ambassador, Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov, presented his credentials to King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden, according to the Dunyo news agency.
Following the official ceremony, a discussion took place where prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Sweden were reviewed.
Special attention was given to increasing mutual trade volumes, strengthening ties between the economic sectors and entrepreneurs of both countries, and expanding collaboration in areas such as climate change adaptation, green economy, science, education, healthcare, and culture.
It is worth noting that Rakhmatulla Nurimbetov arrived in Stockholm on October 15 to assume his role as Uzbekistan’s ambassador. Before this appointment, he served as Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2023 to 2024. Nurimbetov holds a Doctor of Political Sciences (DsC) degree.
