Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - UzAuto Motors Powertrain will direct US$190.8 million in 2020-2023 for a project to develop the production of engines for new car models. This is stated in the draft presidential decree on the investment program of Uzbekistan for 2022-2024, published by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

According to the draft resolution, the plant plans to start production of 185 thousand engines for new car models per year.

Earlier it was reported that UzAuto Motors in September 2022 plans to establish the production of Chevrolet Onix and Tracker cars at the plant in Asaka.

UzAuto Motors Powertrain produces gasoline and bi-fuel (gasoline/gas) B-DOHC (Double Overhead Camshaft) engines of the second generation, designed for optimal power and fuel consumption for the Uzbek market, as well as for export, including Russia, the USA and the CIS countries. Two types of engines are available: with a displacement of 1.2 liters and 1.5 liters. for models: Chevrolet Spark, Cobalt, Gentra, Nexia3.

UzAuto Motors Powertrain also specializes in the production of the main engine components - the crankshaft, cylinder block and cylinder head, which are part of the plant’s production process. The products meet world requirements for quality standards and the GM - GMS (Global Manufacturing System) production system.
