Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — UzAuto Motors has officially refuted circulating rumors about the discontinuation of Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles equipped with a manual transmission.
Earlier, several media outlets reported that UzAuto Motors was allegedly ceasing production and sales of this model with a manual gearbox. These claims were reportedly based on an updated price list published on the Chevrolet.uz platform.
The publications suggested that Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles with manual transmission were no longer being produced and would soon be unavailable for purchase.
However, UzAuto Motors has categorically denied this information, calling it false and misleading.
In its statement, the company emphasized that it has made no official announcement regarding the discontinuation of Chevrolet Cobalt MT. UzAuto Motors urged media representatives and bloggers to refrain from disseminating unverified and inaccurate information.
The company also reminded the public that in Uzbekistan, publishing false information through mass media, telecommunications networks, or the internet is subject to administrative penalties.
UzAuto Motors stressed that any updates on its operations are shared exclusively through official channels and recommended relying only on verified sources.
Previously, it was reported that UzAuto Motors had launched production of the Chevrolet Cobalt Midnight edition.
Notably, the Chevrolet Cobalt remains the most popular model in Uzbekistan. In the first ten months of 2024, UzAuto Motors sold over 112,440 units of this model.
