Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UzAuto Motors continues to produce Chevrolet Lacetti (Gentra) cars, despite a previously made statement to discontinue production of this model from January 2024.

According to information provided by Uzavtosanoat, the UzAuto Motors has the necessary spare parts and components for the production of Chevrolet Lacetti cars. At the same time, as the company noted, the production of these components ceased in January 2024.

UzAuto Motors plans to gradually stop producing this car model. In December 2022, the company announced the completion of the Chevrolet Lacetti life cycle by the end of 2023.

The reason for this decision is the policy of GM Global; enterprises that produce components for it are redirecting production capacity to newer models.

According to the Statistics Agency, in the first four months of 2024 the company produced 10,954 Chevrolet Lacetti cars, which is almost two times less compared to the same period in 2023.
