UzACI demands from MTS to implement requirements of its decree
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek Agency for Communications and Information (UzACI) demanded from Uzdunrobita FE LLC (MTS Uzbekistan trade mark) to unconditional implement all requirements of the agency’s decree from 17 July 2012, the UzACI said.

In accordance with the № 19-L order of the Uzbek Agency for Communications and Information (UzACI) signed July 17, 2012, the effect of the license АА№0000682 issued 28 July 2004 for FE LLC Uzdunrobita for development, construction, operation and services of networks of the mobile radiotelephone (cellular) communication is suspended from 18.00 of 17 July 2012, for the period of ten working days for elimination of violations.

In order to protect the rights of telecommunications services customers, suspension of the aforementioned license is prescribed to be carried out in line with the following regulations:

  • suspend inter-network connection with other telecommunications operators, shelve access to international telecommunications networks, including the Internet, from 18.00 of 17 July 2012;
  • within three days, starting from 18.00 of 17 July 2012, ensure disconnection of the network of Uzdunrobita in the form of Limited Company on the entire territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The arguments put forward by UzACI leadership regarding the need to comply with these regulations during a personal meeting with the newly appointed director general of the Company, have not found understanding.

Disregarding the UzACI order and the interests of its own customers, and failing to take due measures, Uzdunrobita has disconnected the telecommunications infrastructure of the Company in violation of the above regulations.

The Uzbek Agency for Communications and Information insists on the unconditional compliance with the provisions of the order № 19-L from 17 July 2012, including the prescribed regulations.
