USM Holdings can acquire mobile operator Ucell
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
USM Holdings of Alisher Usmanov may acquire a mobile operator Coscom (Ucell trademark) in Uzbekistan, Russian’s CNews reported.
According to two sources of the publication, USM Holdings is in talks with the Swedish Telia to purchase the cellular operator Coscom.
Ucell is the second largest operator of Uzbekistan in terms of the number of subscribers. At the end of 2016, the company served 9.1 million subscribers.
It should be noted that at the end of 2015, Telia announced its intention to sell its assets in the Eurasia region, which includes the CIS countries (except Russian Megafon), Georgia and Nepal.
