The seminar was attended by representatives of the tourism industry and information technology, including residents of the Center.

The leadership of Uzbekistan has defined development of tourism as one of the priority areas. To develop this industry, on 16 August, the President of Uzbekistan approved the program of priority measures for development of tourism for 2018-2019.

Today, one cannot imagine any sphere of activity without modern technologies. Information technologies also play an important role in development of tourism, as modern technologies allow to inform potential tourists about tourist products and attractions of the country, as well as to provide various online services - booking tickets, hotels, restaurants and other services.

Director of Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center Khurshid Sultanov noted: “We organized the seminar to introduce representatives of the tourism and IT sectors to each other. Networking will allow them to create new joint IT products for tourism sector, which in turn will improve the quality of services provided to tourists.”

During the seminar the participants got acquainted with the possibilities of such projects as Hotspot.uz, MyTaxi, Workly, etc. The participants also received information about interactive tourist service Uzbekistan Pass.

Representatives of tourism and IT companies also had an opportunity to discuss promising areas of cooperation.
