Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Since the beginning of protests against racism and police brutality, violence has begun to spread in US cities, caused by the polarization of American society. Experts called on Americans to rally to save weakening democratic institutions, according to the Washington Post (USA).

The current political violence in the United States is fueled by years of racism, social segregation and inequality, which have not only become a source of discontent, but also complicated understanding between divided populations.

In addition, representatives of the Republican Party and, first of all, President Donald Trump, with their statements, further exacerbate the situation. Thus, the Republicans are forced to ignore the democratic values of the country in order to support Donald Trump. Thus, the coming to power of the incumbent president only accelerated the political polarization of American society.

For example, during a speech at the congress of the Republican Party, Donald Trump said that almost 180 thousand illegal immigrants with a criminal past, who were ordered to be deported from the country, today roam the streets freely, threatening civilians. According to FBI statistics, this has led to a sharp increase in the number of hate crimes against Hispanics in the United States.

Moreover, the media reproached the president for encouraging violence from law enforcement officials, recalling that Trump urged police officers not to be too kind to suspects.

Experts see the solution to the problem of the spread of political violence as the creation of a healthy society in the country by strengthening social trust between its citizens. However, according to the latest polls among Americans, confidence in the government is close to historic lows at just 17%. At the same time, 79% of respondents are sure that Americans do not trust each other either.
