“We commend the Government and the people of Uzbekistan for accommodating refugees seeking shelter in the Fergana Valley and stand ready to provide assistance through the UN and others in these efforts,” the statement said.
As earlier reported, Uzbekistan organized tent camp in border areas with Kyrgyzstan, where refugees from neighbouring states, who fled violence, were placed. According to some data, about 75,000-80,000 people are staying at the camp.
