“On behalf of the people of the United States, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Ramadan-Hayit,” the message reads.
“The Holy Month of Ramadan unites Muslims around the world – in Uzbekistan and the United States alike – in prayer, fasting, and worship. This holy season is also a time for reflection and introspection, for charity and for compassion”, Butcher said.
“On this special day, let us consider how we can build broader and deeper bonds in a search for common ground, common understanding, and common respect. Let us also reflect on how we can create more opportunity for more people around the globe to live up to their own God-given potential,” he added.
“In the spirit of fellowship and the celebration of goodwill that is a hallmark of Ramadan, I wish you and your families good health, peace and prosperity,” it added.
