Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Acting khokim of Tashkent city Shavkat Umurzakov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick.
Shavkat Umurzakov thanked the guest for the visit and said that on the initiative of the head of state, a favorable investment and business environment has been created for both local and foreign companies in Uzbekistan, in particular in Tashkent. He expressed confidence that this meeting would be an excellent impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
Jonathan Henick noted that as a temporary resident of Tashkent, he is glad to see positive changes in the appearance of the city. He spoke about the interest of US business circles in participating in promising investment projects in Tashkent in the field of improving road and transport infrastructure, production and export of jewelry, development and application of technological solutions in urban planning. In addition, he reported on the possibility and interest in implementing joint socially significant projects within the framework of cooperation under grant programs.
Umurzakov thanked and supported the guest’s initiatives, and said that a number of programs are currently being developed in Tashkent aimed at developing and optimizing road transport infrastructure, improving conditions for micromobility, creating improved parking zones, and large-scale introduction of trains moving on green into the transport network type of fuel.
In addition, he spoke about several large projects in which businessmen from the United States could participate, and about the conditions and guarantees for investors in our country, created on the initiative of the President.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue to achieve optimal solutions.
