“Hayit is a holy and auspicious occasion for Muslims around the world, including in Uzbekistan and the United States, that unites families, friends and neighbors to celebrate the end of Ramadan, a time for prayer, charity and compassion,” the US envoy said in his statement.

“Peace, forgiveness and unity are the spirit of Eid. May the spirit that imbues this holiday strengthen mutual goodwill between our two nations,” he said.

The US envoy said: “As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to a close, the American people wish continued prosperity, happiness and good health to the people of Uzbekistan. Ramadan-Hayit Mubarak!”
