UNWTO Silk Road Project’s meeting to be held in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
A meeting of national tourism administration of the UN World Tourism Organization’s (UNWTO) Silk Road Project will be held in Samarkand on 8-9 October 2010.
Participants will discuss reforms, improvement and preparation of action plan on ensuring functionality of all structures related with the Silk Road Project.
UNWTO opened its office Silk Road Tourism in Samarkand. The office was opened on 22 October 2004 in line with the agreement between UNWTO and the Uzbek Government.
The office was founded to create data base of tourism monuments and sights along Silk Road, cooperation of 24 counties, located along Silk Road, organization of various events to develop Silk Road project.
