UNWTO, Fund Forum promote tourism potential of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in cooperation with the Fund Forum held several events dedicated to tourism potential of Uzbekistan and heritage of Great Silk Road in Tokyo and Kamakura, Japan. The events were held within the UNWTO Silk Road Programme.

A presentation of Fund Forum “Sky-blue shine of Uzbekistan – center of culture, art and tourism of Great Silk Road” was held within the seminar titled “Tourism units cultures at Silk Road” was held on 30 September. It was organized by the UNWTO, Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) and Nara administration. The presentation, which was held at the assistance of the Embassies of Uzbekistan in Spain and Japan, as well as Uzbektourism, was the only among Central Asian states.

UNWTO Silk Road Programme head Alla Peresolova said the UNWTO expresses gratitude to Fund Forum for joint organization of the first event of the World Tourism Day within the International Tourism Forum JATA in Japan. She said that Fund Forum presentation demonstrated important role of the organization in uniting culture with partner states for further stimulating development of tourism through Great Silk Road.

Representatives of the UNWTO and its bodies, Japanese officials, tourism companies, national tourism administrations and others participated at the seminar.

Nara city mayor Gen Nakagawa said that joint cultural and academic projects of Fund Forum and Nara are good tradition and evidence for long-term interaction of Japan and Uzbekistan through Great Silk Road, which creates new dialogues between two nations.

On 1-2 October, activity of International Youth Tourism and Cooperation Bureau “Kelajak Tour” has been presented within International Tourism Fair JATA. The presentation also included presentation of several projects of the Fund Forum.

On 3 October, representatives of Fund Forum and the UNWTO exchanged opinion on joint projects and establishment partnership relations within the roundtable in Kamakura.
