The system and its partner in Uzbekistan, open joint stock commercial bank “Hamkorbank” launched new phase of integration project. It opens opportunity to transfer in format, when the user only indicates country and receive can take money in any branch of Hamkorbank in Uzbekistan.

So, the number of remittance service point increased by 170 points in Uzbekistan. Hamkorbank operates in 11 regions of Uzbekistan and has offices in Tashkent, Ferghana, Samarkand, Andijan and Bukhara cities.

UNISTREAM President Souren Hayriyan said that Uzbekistan is important for the system as principle money transfer corridor in the CIS.

He said that currently the system has almost 1,300 remittance points in Uzbekistan and cooperates with 14 financial institutions. He added that 275 points operate in Tashkent, over 80 in Samarkand, almost 50 in Andijan and 45 in Bukhara, as well as 40 in Ferghana.

He added that over 85% of service points in Uzbekistan are operating on addressless format.

Souren Hayriyan stated that turnover of the system in Uzbekistan grew by 17% in the first quarter and number of transactions jumped by 6%. He added that the system actively promotes unified client cards, which is currently used at sending 80% of money transfers in Uzbekistan.
