UNFPA, Ziyo Forum, UN Uzbekistan, and the Mahalla Association hold Youth Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — International Youth Day, celebrated annually on 12 August, highlights the role of youth in societal development and addressing global challenges. In 2024, the theme for International Youth Day is "From Clicks to Progress: Youth’s Digital Pathways to Sustainable Development." In line with this theme, Uzbekistan organized the event "Digital Skills for Young Leaders," aimed at discussing the role of youth in creating a more equitable, just, and secure digital world.

The event focused on equipping young people with essential digital skills to help them realize their potential and contribute to sustainable societal development. Participants learned how technology can be a tool for eliminating inequality, promoting gender equality, and building a world free from violence and discrimination.

This unique event offered young people the opportunity to delve into the world of digital technologies and acquire knowledge that will assist them in building a successful future. Participants were introduced to stories of young professionals who have achieved significant success and learned how modern digital technologies play a key role in the lives of youth.

The forum also served as a platform for exchanging ideas and networking with like-minded individuals. It addressed several important topics, including the impact of digital learning on raising youth awareness of environmental issues and developing solutions for sustainable development, discussions on online safety, types of online violence, mechanisms for protection, and the promotion of gender equality through digital platforms. Additionally, the event explored how digital technologies help youth develop professional skills, find new employment opportunities, build successful careers, and the impact of artificial intelligence on education, careers, and everyday life, including the ethical aspects of its use in modern conditions.

This event was organized with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Ziyo Forum, and the Mahalla Association of Uzbekistan. It aimed to support the younger generation in their pursuit of progress and sustainable development through digital technologies.
