Uzbekistan 18/08/2008 UNFPA supports youth media activities in Uzbekistan
These evens are tailored to train young journalists of Uzbekistan on addressing important youth-related issues through various media outlets, introduce activities of newly created TV studios in Bukhara and Samarkand, provide update on the activities carried out by the above-mentioned organizations during the first part of 2008 and award the journalists who have created and aired the best information products on social subjects during this period of time.

"UNFPA’s role in these activities is to ensure that young journalists participating at these educational events realize significance of covering such issues as reproductive health, healthy lifestyle, gender equality, HIV/AIDS prevention and Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and receive all necessary information to develop good quality media products to further educate their peers on these important subjects through mass media that plays strategic role in educating young generation", - commented Ms. Feruza Fazilova, UNFPA National Officer on Reproductive Health.
