Uzbekistan 24/07/2007 UNFPA, Labour Ministry conduct training on demographic aspects
On 24–28 July the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) conducts training on demographic processes and their implications on socio-economic development and strategies for the Ministry staff.

This training is conducted as part of the UNFPA and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection effort on strengthening national capacity in demography and population statistics, including data collection and analysis. The international consultant was invited to facilitate this training activity.

It is expected that the workshop will help to increase the capacity of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection staff in analyzing possible consequences of the current demographic processes in Uzbekistan and including them into national development strategies.

It is planned that trained Ministry staff will conduct a series of seminars on the given topics for their colleagues in the provinces of Uzbekistan with focus on the local current demographic situation.
