Within the joint project of the UNESCO office in Uzbekistan and Norway Trust Fund “Strengthening national potential on protection of intangible cultural heritage in Central Asia”, it is planned to hold national training on execution of the UN Convention on this issue on 23-27 April 2012. A group of international experts will participate at the event.

At the meeting at the ministry, head of the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan Jorge Ivan Espinal informed the Minister Tursunali Kuziev about main goals of the event.

The training will cover the Convention and discuss execution of liabilities of the state, which ratify this document, as well as implementation of this programme.

At the meeting, the Uzbek side gave positive response for assisting to invite specialists of various ministries and departments, who work on preservation of intangible cultural heritage. The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in execution of the joint UN agencies programme “Ensuring vital activity of population in Aral region” in cultural part.
