In order to compile a modern thesaurus, the project involved experts in the field of law and other fields, who have completed their work in this direction, and gave the thesaurus to specialized research institutions to finalize and obtain appropriate conclusions.

It should be noted, that in compiling the thesaurus the selection of legal terms were in consistency with the criteria of selection of terms compiled by academic A.Hojiev. In addition, special attention was paid to the selection of foreign language terms. Also, legal terms were selected taking into the account the internal capacity and specificity of the Uzbek language in compliance with legal language norms.

Russian-Uzbek legal thesaurus contains terms of the main branches of law making, and also economic, banking, stock exchange, and international law. In compiling the thesaurus were used special domestic and foreign dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks, monographs and periodical legal literature.

The main goal pursued by this work is helping the MPs, as well as professionals and practitioners in using of the most frequently used terms in the legislation and enforcement of law.

Russian-Uzbek legal thesaurus can also be used by scientific and practical users, teachers and students of law schools, a wide range of readers as educational and reference material.

UNDP and both Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, was launched the joint project "Parliamentary Development Assistance", the main goal of which is to render technical assistance on strengthening information and communication, and institutional base of informational and analytical activities of both Chambers of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
