Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 10 to 19 December 2008 the UNDP together with the University of World Economy and Diplomacy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UWED) and the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ASSC) is planning to conduct an intensive program for teachers of higher school who successfully graduated from the induction Human Development training this August.

This training is the first event which will be conducted on the base of Resource Centre under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. Resource Centre was opened in October this year and serves as a platform for educational events and discussion on human development with participation of representatives from scientific/civil societies, think tank/researchers’ circles, state departments and local authorities.

The main objective of the advanced-level training is to strengthen knowledge and skills which teachers gained during induction in August, probe exam test and case-studies, elaborate methodological materials, promote discussions over advanced copy of the Human Development text-book for Uzbekistan. The expected result of the program is to empower the trainers with solid knowledge, skills and tools which will enable them to conduct the “Human Development” course at the universities of Uzbekistan.
