It is worth to note that these textbooks first manuals, published on the Free Open Source Software (FOSS) in Uzbekistan. The books were prepared in the result of cooperation between ICTP project and CTSYP in software development and information systems design field.

The manual “Introduction to LINUX and administration” briefly introduces the reader to the open-source GNU/Linux operating system and its various distributions, describes the capabilities and user programs of the system. The book also contains a section on the system administration of computers and networks, based on GNU/Linux.

The book “MySQL DBMS” contains information about the contemporary MySQL database management system. This open source DBMS is a leader in the field of data storage of web applications. The sheer speed and support of a broad range of industry standards allows us to recommend MySQL as a basis of enterprise wide information system construction.

Modern sites use a lot of paradigms, programming architectures and technologies to achieve the final result. For the presentation of a coherent picture, the third textbook presents to the reader material on various web technologies, including Javascript, PHP, DHTML, etc. Thus, after studying this book, students can dive into interactive and dynamic site design.

These books were designed for the students and self-study for those interested in these areas. The books were in 50 copies each and they will be distributed to the CTSYP students.

The publishers hope that these books will help prepare and support young programmers in the future to become highly qualified professionals in software engineering.
